About
The Laingsburg Educational Advancement Foundation (LEAF) is a non profit organization formed in 1992 to provide funding for innovative educational opportunities and to maintain academic excellence. Since it was founded, thanks to its many contributors, LEAF has received contributions of more than $400,000. Such positive participation signals to the foundation the community-wide support for the enhancement of educational opportunities in our schools.
Consistent with its goals, LEAF has provided more than 184 grants worth more than $360,000 since 1992 to support educational advancements in Laingsburg schools, making possible many projects and activities that are not ordinarily available in a school budget. These range from interactive software for physics to a solar energy demonstration station to an elementary school fine arts program.
The foundation's ability to provide opportunities for stimulating and innovative learning in our schools is the direct result of the contributions it receives from the community. Therefore, to maintain an ongoing process of educational growth and advancement, the foundation must continue to seek contributions on a regular basis.
Contributions to LEAF are tax-deductible at the federal level for those who itemize.
Who We Are
The Laingsburg Educational Advancement Foundation is a public, non profit 501(c)(3) organization. Its purpose is to supplement funding available to the Laingsburg Community Schools in order to create innovative educational opportunities and maintain academic excellence. Foundation funding is provided by contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses who are committed to educational excellence in Laingsburg Schools. We also hold an endowment with the Capital Region Community Foundation.
LEAF's mission is to help bring to life innovative educational opportunities. This is done through grant funding for Laingsburg Community Schools teachers and staff. By providing financial resources that might not otherwise be available, the foundation encourages a high level of visionary achievement for both teachers and students.
What types of Projects does LEAF Support?
At LEAF, we are passionate about fostering growth and opportunity within educational landscapes. We proudly support a broad spectrum of projects, collaborating with an array of educational facilities and institutions to cultivate rich, dynamic learning environments for all.
The types of projects LEAF supports include but are not limited to:
- Special classroom projects that encourage excellence through innovative teaching and learning.
- Grants for unique seminars, clinics, and programs that promote the citizenship and welfare of students.
- Technology grants are aimed at bridging the gap between school and the world of work.
- Projects for enhancement and beautification of landscaping at each facility.

Who Serves the Non Profit Organization?
Our foundation consists of community leaders with diverse backgrounds and expertise who have an interest in providing the "extras" in education for students at Laingsburg Schools. The foundation's Board of Directors directs the use of its funds consistent with the educational goals, priorities, and strategies of the school district but operates entirely independent of the Laingsburg Board of Education.
